WHAT IS LNG
Natural gas, cooled to a liquid — 600× more energy per litre.
Liquefied Natural Gas is simply natural gas cooled to around −162°C, where it becomes a clear cryogenic liquid taking up roughly 1/600th of its gaseous volume. That density is what makes it economic to move by road tanker, rail or ship to sites that aren’t connected to a pipeline.
At the customer site, LNG is held in vacuum-insulated storage and regasified on demand, feeding boilers, kilns, gensets and gas-engine vehicles just like mains natural gas.
